I 5 Borghi Più Belli Da Visitare a Natale In Abruzzo.

Partiamo col dire che se passerete le vacanze di Natale in Abruzzo non ve ne pentirete. Tra neve,

borghi illuminati, presepi viventi, pietanze stratosferiche e mercatini di artigianato sarete immersi nell'atmosfera natalizia più che mai.

Ecco perchè voglio consigliarvi i 5 borghi più belli da visitare in questo periodo dell'anno con annesso piatto tipico per riscaldarvi durante le giornate più fredde.

1. Pacentro: partiamo con questo piccolo gioiello abruzzese, classificato come uno dei borghi più belli d'Italia, qui avviene ogni anno, prettamente il 26 Dicembre, la rappresentazione della nascita di Gesù bambino. Attraverso i suoi vicoli storici, scoprirete la storia ammirando le botteghe artigianali, le falegnamerie e le locande allestite come un tempo, oltre poi ad incontrare i personaggi tipici del presepe.

Piatto Tipico da assaggiare: La polta, piatto di origine contadina simile ad una minestra.

2. Santo Stefano di Sessanio: che dire su questo borgo, ve ne ho già parlato in uno dei miei post passati e dire che ne sono innamorata è poco. Sotto il periodo natalizio si trasforma in un turbinio d'illuminazioni colorate e piccoli presepi diffusi per tutto il suo centro. Troverete anche tantissimi negozietti artigianali dove poter comprare dei regali unici e fatti a mano, vi consiglio sopratutto "La Bottega" di Antonella Mantini che vi avvolgerà con calore con le sue saponette e candele profumate alla cannella e l'arancia.

Piatto Tipico da assaggiare: Zuppa di Lenticchie di Santo Stefano.

3. Caramnico Terme: ogni anno qui viene allestito il cosidetto "Villaggio di Babbo Natale". Vi ritroverete a camminare per strada con elfi e gnomi, cantare le canzoni di Natale, fare foto ricordo con Santa Klaus, fare un giro in carrozza, gustare prodotti tipici o semplicemente comprare oggetti realizzati manualmente. Per i più piccoli si potranno trovare anche tantissimi laboratori creativi. Potete oltretutto essere avventurieri con i vari trekking ed escursioni che si organizzano durante il weekend nella riserva naturale dell'Orfento.

Piatto tipico da assaggiare: Pappardelle al sugo di cinghiale.

4. Atri: un evento da non perdere è la discesa delle Befane dalla torre del Palazzo Ducale di questo meraviglioso borgo. Una tradizione che ogni anno si ripete dove ci saranno tante sorprese per i più piccoli: la Befana consegnerà caramelle e dolcetti a tutti loro e per i più grandi ci saranno varie manifestazione di arte, musica e spettacoli di ogni genere per passare le feste divertendosi.

Piatto Tipico da Assaggiare: Il Pan Ducale, dolce a base di mandorle e cioccolato.

5. L'Aquila: Questo non si tratta di un borgo, ma i mercatini di Natale dell'Aquila vi stupiranno con la loro magia. Questa città, piena di storia e tradizioni, sotto il periodo natalizio è una delle mete più gettonate grazie alle sue immense bancarelle dove potete assaggiare pietanze tipiche, comprare oggetti locali fatti a mano e bere un buon vin brulè. Una delle tante novità che troverete sarà dedicata ai fan di Harry Potter dato che ci sarà uno spazio dedicato alla saga chiamata "La Scuola di Magia" dove scoprirete oggettistica varia ispirata ai libri e al film, ma anche tante attività divertenti.

Piatto Tipico Da Assaggiare: Pecora Alla Cottora o Callara.

Ovviamente ne potrei elencare altri mille di borghi splendidi dove passare le feste natalizie, ma questi sono sicuramente tra i miei preferiti.

Ed oltre a visitare questi posti, se siete amanti della neve, potreste passare una bella giornata sulle meravigliose piste da sci, partecipare a ciaspolate o andare in snowboard, il tutto accompagnato a fine giornata da una bella cioccolata calda in qualche rifugio assaggiando i dolci tipici natalizi come i famosi Cavicionetti.

Come vedete ce n'è per tutti i gusti: il Natale in Abruzzo è un evento tutto da scoprire.

That’s why I want to recommend the 5 most beautiful villages to visit this time of the year with their typical dish to warm you up during the colder days.

1. Pacentro: let’s start with this little jewel from Abruzzo, classified as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, every year on December 26th there is the representation of the birth of Jesus. Through its historic alleys, you will discover history by admiring the craft shops, the carpenters, the inns as well as meeting the typical characters of the crib.

Typical dish to taste: La polta, a dish of peasant origin similar to a soup.

2. Santo Stefano di Sessanio: what to say about this village, I have already talked about it in one of my past posts and surely this is one of my favorite between them all . Under the Christmas period it turns into a whirlwind of colorful illuminations and small cribs spread throughout its center. You will also find many craft shops where you can buy unique and handmade gifts, I recommend especially "La Bottega" by Antonella Mantini that will wrap you with warmth in its soaps and candles scented with cinnamon and orange.

Typical dish to taste: Santo Stefano Lentil Soup.

3. Caramnico Terme: Every year the so-called "Santa Claus Village" is set up here. You’ll find yourself walking down the street with elves and gnomes, singing Christmas songs, taking souvenir photos with Santa Klaus, taking a ride in a carriage, tasting typical products or simply buying objects made by hand. For the little ones you can also find many creative workshops.

You can be adventurers with the various trekking and excursions that are organized during the weekend in the Orfento nature reserve.

Typical dish to taste: Pappardelle with wild boar sauce.

4. Atri: an event not to be missed is the descent of the Befana from the tower of the Ducal Palace of this wonderful village. A tradition that is repeated every year where there will be many surprises for children: the Epiphany will deliver candy and sweets to all of them and for older people there will be various art events, music and shows of all kinds to spend the holidays having fun.

Typical Dish to Taste: The Pan Ducale, cake made with almonds and chocolate.

5. L'Aquila: Last but not least, the Aquila Christmas markets will amaze you with their magic.

This city, full of history and traditions, under the Christmas period is one of the most popular destinations thanks to its huge stalls where you can taste typical dishes, buy local handmade items and drink a good mulled wine. One of the many new features you will find will be dedicated to Harry Potter fans as there will be a space dedicated to the saga called "The School of Magic" where you will discover various objects inspired by books and movies, but also many fun activities.

Typical Dish To Taste: Pecora Alla Cottora or Callara.

Of course I could list a thousand other beautiful villages where to spend the Christmas holidays, but these are definitely among my favorites.

And in addition to visiting these places, if you are a snow lover, you could spend a nice day on the wonderful ski slopes, take snowshoeing or go snowboarding, All accompanied at the end of the day by a nice hot chocolate in some refuge tasting the typical Christmas sweets like the famous Cavicionetti.
