FOLIAGE IN ABRUZZO: IL POSTO PIU' BELLO

Si chiama Fonte Romana, e a mio avviso è il posto più bello dove vedere il foliage in Abruzzo.

Bosco rossissimo, ci sono diversi sentieri d'acqua che fanno da cornice a questo paesaggio spettacolare.

Bosco Fonte Romana si trova alle falde della Majella, precisamente tra i comuni di Pacentro e Campo di Giove, e costeggia il fiume Vella immerso nelle faggete secolari. Andarci d'autunno è bellissimo perché le vedrai cambiare colore grazie al fenomeno del foliage.

Inoltre incontrerai i resti di alcune capanne in pietra utilizzate all'inizio del XX secolo.

Dal bosco puoi percorrere il sentiero P4 che porta direttamente a Fondo Majella. E’ uno dei più belli di tutto il versante Ovest.

In 50 minuti puoi raggiungere la prima tappa di Fonte di Collalto (1526 m). Proseguendo invece vedrai che ad un certo punto la faggeta si diraderà e lascerà

spazio ai prati di Fondo Majella. Siamo ad un'altezza di 1790 metri per una percorrenza totale di 1h50 minuti.

Se vuoi mangiare, potrai deciderti di portarti qualcosa, oppure puoi pranzare comodo nello Chalet del Bosco. Quando ho visto questa struttura a pagoda col laghetto davanti ho pensato per un attimo di essere stata catapultata in Giappone. Non trovate?

Sono tanti i posti in Abruzzo dove vedere il foliage, ma se verrai per la prima volta e hai poco tempo a disposizione, ti consiglio di scegliere questo posto. Rispetto agli altri, presenta molti più sentieri d'acqua, particolarità che lo rende più suggestivo.

FOLIAGE IN ABRUZZO: THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACE

It is called Fonte Romana, and in my opinion it is the most beautiful place to see the foliage in Abruzzo.

Red wood, there are several water paths that frame this spectacular landscape.

Bosco Fonte Romana is located at the foot of the Majella, precisely between the municipalities of Pacentro and Campo di Giove, and runs along the Vella river surrounded by centuries-old beech woods. Going there in autumn is beautiful because you will see them changing in color thanks to the phenomenon of foliage.

You will also encounter the remains of some stone huts used in the early 20th century.

From the woods you can take the P4 path that leads directly to Fondo Majella. It is one of the most beautiful in the entire West side.

In 50 minutes you can reach the first stage of Fonte di Collalto (1526 m). Continuing instead you will see that at a certain point the beech forest will thin out and leave space for the meadows of Fondo Majella.

We are at a height of 1790 meters for a total walk of 1h50 minutes.

If you want to eat, you can decide to bring something, or you can have a comfortable lunch in the Chalet del Bosco. When I saw this pagoda structure with the pond in front of it, I thought for a moment that I was catapulted to Japan. Don't you think?

There are many places in Abruzzo where you can see the foliage, but if you come for the first time and you have little time available, I recommend you choose this place. Compared to the others, it has many more water paths, a peculiarity that makes it more impressive.
